Noise cancelling works well for loud sudden noise but not for continuous machine or engine noise. For my purposes they didn’t work that great.

I purchased these because my son used my old Peltor 6S muffs for rifle season this year.
If I had my Samsung S21 Ultra in any pocket, or in my hands, it caused terrible feedback and static. I returned my pair of Walker’s quads.
The volume control is touchy, and honestly they amplify ambient sound way too much. A jet flew over and I thought I was about to be bombed. The ‘tone’ filter knobs are a great idea, but excution is really bad. If they used better quality speakers, perhaps the tone filter wheels could be of some use. Basically muffled some highs and some lows.
No gel cups. STRONG headband kept the phones tight to my head.
If there were no cell phones in the world, these would be great. I bought Peltor Tactical Sport 500’s and some gel cups to replace these muffs. Sound quality for music is lacking, but they are a huge step up from these Walker’s. Plus I can listen to music and hear ambient sounds at the same time with separate volume controls for each. I’m very happy with them.

I was quite surprised the difference these 27 NRR make over my older 23 NRR in an indoor range. Now I can hear clearly the person I’m talking too and experience a better noise reduction at the same time. The control placement is very nice and the audio is super crisp and loud. Barely have to turn the volume up. Build feels solid and seal feels good.

I use them for hunting, with really noisy environment it’s not the best for filtering out noise like just hearing birds or a deer grunt. But on those quite days you can hear things a mile away. When shooting its really odd as you hear the echo much louder, and it sounds like a holly wood version of a gunshot (30.06 in the bush). They are made well and I used them pretty steady for two weeks in the cold and the batteries held up, which was a surprise. I would buy again.

If you want to hear conversation, then forget using these. If you want to hear every bit of ambient noise all around you, then these are for you.
I would have to take these off just to hear what someone was saying because ambient noise was amplified so loudly.
The 3M peltor sport tactical 300 are MUCH better for hearing conversation.
