   Purchased them and tried them and worked perfectly !
   I set them aside for a month until I was ready to use them and then tried them had a constant cracking noise in the RH side speaker
   Have tried everything to see if I had done something wrong put new batteries ect but nothing can fix it

   The noise reduction is great, I don’t feel like I have to yell at the top of my lungs, I can hear myself talk and I can hear others just fine. If you have always used passive hearing protection and are thinking about this item just get it, you won’t regret it.

   The razor is a good bang for your buck value muff. But the audio sounds like a toy. The firemax (behind the ear model) doesnt block out noise as well as the razor or the XCEL because of the behind-the-ear design. I did not the try over-the-ear Fire Max. Maybe i should have. Also, the Fire Max did have slightly louder audio, BUT not as clear as the XCEL. The XCEL is definitely worth the extra money, the seal is much tighter than the Razor and the FireMax (behind the ear).

   These work well for their intended purpose. I really like their fit and performance for the range. I can hear range commands and conversations well and it cuts the firing noise very well. I tried using them while using a leaf blower and not so good for that though.

   I wholeheartedly love this headset. Yes, I did modify by purchasing the gel ear pads and this really helped with comfort. Not that the original ear pads are bad, they’re just not as comfortable. Great value even though these aren’t inexpensive. Some people have complained about the sound from the speakers while listening to your Bluetooth. Why would you expect the quality of a Bose, Beats, or an Audio-Technica? These are made for shooting, so you should pay attention to your surroundings, your music should be low if you feel like listening to music. Get the headphones I mentioned above if you feel like listening to loud music with bass and or clarity. These work exceptionally well for me when I’m at the range. Easy to operate once you know the controls and where they’re located. Syncing with Bluetooth is a breeze too. I love the color, fit, and overall quality of these headphones. Update, after a year of use I’m having difficulty syncing my device via Bluetooth. Don’t understand why this is happening now.

    I ordered the Beige color but received Charcoal Gray. Not a BIG deal as I need them for an out of town competition so no time for an exchange. They sound great so far and I was able to receive a phone call with no issues. If they work that well right of the box I’m pretty sure they will be fine for the shoot.

    Walker’s makes many different brands, colors, and features of headsets. The XCEL 100’s are one of the newest and best designs. The model I reviewed currently only comes in green and did not include Bluetooth capability. Besides the headset, in the packaging was a folded set of instructions and a set of Duracell batteries. The batteries in the package had a current expiration date. The headset folds nicely for a range bag and easily unfolds for use. The instructions also unfold to a clear 5×8 paper owner’s manual . Simple rubber button controls on the left side, Power on, volume up/ down, and a mode switch. The headset speaks (English) when each button is pressed and they follow along with the written instructions. There are four modes of operation. Universal was fine for the range, Power Boost makes everything notably louder. Clear voice and High Frequency seemed to be about the same, adding a boost to the midrange toward the high end. Powered off the ear cup seals provided great isolation from loud noises at the range. Powered on the whole world opens up where you can hear the RSO but loud noises (gun fire) is severely muted. The microphones are mounted on the headband instead of the ear cups, providing much better isolation. There is a left and right microphone, providing a full stereo effect to help distinguish what direction sounds are coming from. To save battery The headset can also power itself off after a selectable 2, 4, or 6 hrs. That feature can also be disabled. It also remembers your last setting even after power off. Battery life has been good so far lasting a full day without issues. I would expect the batteries will go longer but I have a spare set of AAA’s in my range bag just in case. So far I’m pleased with the XCELS and expect them to provide years of service.
